Description
Want to teach your kids to drive you crazy by asking really annoying questions?
You do, actually, because your kids will frequently run into unclear communication both outside and inside the church. Part of our responsibility as parents is to ensure they’re well-equipped to stand firm for truth, while helping others to understand it, and this workshop will help you help them build some of the skills needed to do just that.
Jason will talk through how you can use different kinds of questions effectively in dialogue to either clarify something, make a point, or redirect a conversation.
Jason Gates is part software engineer and part speech and debate coach. He founded the New Mexico Forensics Club to train homeschoolers in the skills that are necessary to fostering open and honest dialogue – the ability to: communicate your views in a eloquent, effective, winsome, and gracious manner; boldly persuade others and motivate them to action; know exactly what it is you believe and why you believe it; think critically; research, analyze, and draw well-reasoned conclusions; ask probing questions to dig beneath the surface to the root of the issue; etc.
