2024 CAPE-NM Convention Keynote and Featured Speakers

Todd Wilson

Todd Wilson, is a dad, grand dad, writer, conference speaker, and former pastor. Todd’s humor and down to earth realness have made him a favorite speaker at homeschool conventions, retreats, and churches across the country.

As founder of Familyman Ministries and the Smiling Homeschooler, his passion and mission are to remind dads and moms of what’s most important through weekly e-mails, podcasts (The Familyman Show & The Smiling Homeschooler), seminars, and books and products that encourage parents.

Todd, and his wife Debbie, homeschool two of their eight children (six have graduated from their homeschool with four married) in northern Indiana and travel America in the Familyman Mobile. You can read more at www.familymanweb.com

Durenda Wilson

With more than 28 years of home education experience, Durenda Wilson is a trusted voice and resource at homeschooling conventions and on The Durenda Wilson Podcast.

Durenda and her husband, Darryl, have been married for 34 years. They have 8 kids (7 graduated so far) and 10 grandchildren. As an author, speaker, and podcaster, her greatest joy is reminding parents how doable and effective homeschooling is and that they are, in fact, qualified for the job! Her books include The Four-Hour School Day, The Unhurried Homeschooler, and Unhurried Grace for a Mom’s Heart. You can read more at www.durendawilson.com

Cheri Kay Sessions

Cheri Kay Sessions (PT, DPT) has 15+ years’ experience as a pediatric physical therapist, special needs advocate, and homeschooling mom. Cheri Kay’s three amazing children were all adopted internationally and have a variety of unique needs. She received her bachelor’s from Michigan State University in Athletic Training, a master’s degree from the University of Rhode Island in Physical Therapy, and a Doctor of Physical Therapy from the University of Southern California with an emphasis on pediatrics.

Along with her training as a physical therapist, she trained to provide trauma-informed care and is fluent in American Sign Language. She has experience navigating the school system, the community mental health system, and the health care system both as a parent and a professional. With her unique understanding of how these systems work, she is equipped to advocate for families that also need to access these services.

Cheri Kay enjoys traveling and has spent three years living overseas in the beautiful country of Haiti, serving the Haitian people through various medical and therapy clinics. Along with parenting the children who have stolen her heart, Cheri Kay’s passion is to come alongside other families with resources and encouragement and help them soar into their own success!
