Mark Hamby (M.S., M.Div., Th.M., D. Min. cand.) is founder and president of Lamplighter Ministries International, Inc. He lives in northeastern Pennsylvania with his wife, Debbie. They have three children whom they homeschooled; two are now married, and their youngest is in college.
As author, speaker, and Bible teacher, what Mark enjoys most is helping his audience to remove the mask in order to expose the heart. Unless the heart is reached, there can be no lasting change. Through the genre of storytelling and the life-changing power of God’s Word, Mark’s audiences have learned that we serve a God for whom nothing is impossible.
While his children were young, Mark’s role as a shepherd taught him many parenting principles—“a shepherd leads, feeds, and protects,” and “when our lives speak louder than our words, others will follow.” After experiencing an extraordinary redemptive transformation with his family, Mark went on to publish his first book, which gave birth to Lamplighter Publishing and later expanded into Lamplighter Ministries International.
Mark hated to read when he was young. In fact, he had never read a book from cover to cover even after receiving a college degree. But Mark’s life changed dramatically after meeting Charlie T. Jones, whose words he will never forget: “You will be the same today as you will be five years from now, except for the people you meet and the books you read!” That statement, along with the twelve biographies that he read soon after, changed the course of Mark’s life forever. He is still praying the prayer that he found in that first book, “The world has not yet seen what God can do through one man wholly committed to Christ; I pray I will be that man.”

Author of
The High School Handbook
&
Junior and Senior High School at Home
Mary and husband Paul began homeschooling in 1986. Their children graduated, married, moved into their own homes, got decent jobs, and are doing fine out in “the real world” despite the fears of homeschool naysayers. Mary wrote The High School Handbook, a guide to home educating junior and senior high school students, based on years of experience, research, and prayer. She speaks at home education conventions throughout the United States, encouraging parents to seek God’s unique plan for their families. Mary has been enjoying her “retirement” from active homeschooling by continuing to serve on the Board of Directors for the Christian Home Educators Association of California and by remaining active in legal and legislative issues surrounding private and home education, family freedoms, and parental rights. She also found time to go back to school, get a law degree, and become an attorney with her own practice in northern California. However, her favorite activity these days is playing with her grandchildren.

The Family that stays together…STAYS TOGETHER
Author & Founder of
Steve and his wife Sandra have been married for 30 years. They have been blessed with four boys: Isaac, 30; Ethan, 28; Joseph, 25; and Johnny, 22. With God’s help, they have all been home educated. He is the founder of MathUSee and is on the board of Joni and Friends for Eastern PA.
Steve’s desire is to strengthen, teach, encourage, validate, and exhort parents and families to follow the biblical model for the Christian home. Having spent years working with youth as a teacher in schools (public and Christian), as a pastor and youth leader in churches, and as a counselor and camp director at summer camps, “I am absolutely convinced that the single most significant influence in a child’s life is that of his parents. Mentors and coaches have a valuable and influential role in the life of today’s youth, but you can’t replace Mom and Dad. Outside ministries are helpful but godly parents are essential. You may support the home, but you can’t replace it.”
